Big groups anticipate jute business.

To capitalize on expanding export opportunities, a number of large corporate groups have stepped up to take over state-run jute mills that are currently closed.

According to sources at the textiles and jute ministry, Pran, Bay, and Akij are just a few of the well-known companies that are interested in investing in these jute mills. Two jute mills from India and one from the United Kingdom are also competing.
